FIELD: computer technology.
SUBSTANCE: output optical signals are formed on base on input optical signals Ia and Ib; intensity of signals equals to difference of two first signals Ia-Ib, Ib-Ia and of signal Ia=Ib. Optical subtractor has m similar groups of elements. Each group consists of optical Y-couplers, optical integrators, optical threshold devices, and optical logic devices.
EFFECT: higher speed of operation at subtraction of optical signals.
