FIELD: electrochemical industry; other industries; methods of production of the upgraded rhodium electrocatalyst.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the electrocatalyst produced on the basis of the rhodium sulfide used for oxygen reduction in the industrial electrolyzers. The electrocatalyst is formed by heating up of the rhodium chloride water solution until the stationary distribution of the rhodium chloride isomers, and then conduct blow-offs of hydrogen sulfide in the solution with production of rhodium sulfide. The electrocatalyst may be applied on the inert electroconductive substrate, for example, on the finely dispersed carbon black. The technical result of the invention is production of the catalyst, which is highly resistive to the corrosion and the organic particles poisoning, that makes it especially suitable for usage at the electrolysis of the water solutions of the muriatic acid, and also at usage of the acid of the engineering purity containing the organic impurities. The modification of the method of production of the electrocatalyst allows to improve considerably its activity and compatibility.
EFFECT: the invention ensures the considerable improvement of the electrocatalyst activity and compatibility.
