FIELD: physical chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing a membrane-electrode block of a fuel cell. The method consists in applying electrocatalytic layers based on platinum group metals on a carbon carrier and an ionomer on the membrane and gas diffusion layers, while the catalytic ink of the anode layer is prepared by dispersing in an ultrasonic homogenizer for 30 min of the calculated amount of catalytic powder based on the density application of 0.3 mg/cm2Pt20/SnO210/C, where platinum 20 wt.%, tin dioxide 10 wt.%, C - carbon black grade Vulcan XC 72 with Teflon 10 wt.%, in a water-alcohol solution with an isopropanol content of at least 90% with the addition of 10 wt.% of the dry residue of an aqueous solution of the Nafion grade ionomer® D1021 and applied with an airbrush on the anode gas diffusion layer of hydrophobized carbon fabric, catalytic inks of the anode and cathode layers are prepared by dispersing Pt40/C, where platinum is 40 wt.%, C is carbon black of Vulcan XC 72 grade with Teflon 10 wt.%, in water-alcohol solution with an isopropanol content of at least 90% with the addition of 10 wt.% of the dry residue of an aqueous solution of the Nafion grade ionomer® D1021 and apply 1.4 mg/cm2 of Pt40/C catalyst to the cathode gas diffusion layer using an airbrush.

EFFECT: increasing durability and maintaining high efficiency when operating at low temperatures.
