FIELD: plunger-type homogenizer for producing of stable finely dispersed emulsions not tending to sedimentation, coalescence and coagulation, and may be used in chemical, food-processing, pharmaceutical, perfume-cosmetics and other branches of industry.
SUBSTANCE: homogenizer has flow-through channel formed between throttling valves and having volume V calculated according to ratio V=(1.2-1.4)Vr, where Vr is working volume of hydraulic cylinder. Ratio of length of flow-through channel to its transverse size is in the excess of 5. Springy pressure devices of throttling valves are equipped with damping members. Such construction allows emulsion breaking to be slowed, reduced effect of non-uniform homogeneity pressure characteristic of single-plunger type homogenizer to be reduced with time, uniform droplet distribution by sizes, self-oscillations of throttling valves to be eliminated, and wearing of said valves to be reduced.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of emulsions.
