FIELD: petroleum processing.
SUBSTANCE: gas mixture containing oxygen, at least one olefin, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and optionally one alkine is brought into contact with catalyst including at least one metal or metal oxide selected from series including group 10 and group 11 metals, said metal or metal oxide being deposited on oxide support and indicated contact being conducted in reaction zone leading to no significant hydrogenation of olefins. When catalyst includes at least one group 10 metal or metal oxide, catalyst also tin and, when catalyst includes at least one group 11 metal or metal oxide, oxide support is constituted by zeolite. Gas mixture is preferably obtained from hydrocarbon autothermal cracking process.
EFFECT: increased degree of removal of oxygen from process streams containing oxygen in relatively low concentrations without significant loss of olefins.
