FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, possibly zinc extraction from zinc sulfate solutions in plants operating at automatic stripping of cathode metal.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of electrolytic deposition of zinc onto aluminum matrix out of solutions containing antimony while continuously adding to electrolyte bony glue, extract of licorice root and lignosulfonate; before starting zinc deposition adding to electrolyte single dose of antimony while increasing by 0.01 - 0.025 mg/l antimony concentration in electrolyte; using solution containing 6 - 12 g/l of potassium antimony tartrate for adding antimony.
EFFECT: increased electric-current yield of zinc.
