FIELD: friction welding of blanks of different materials.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of heating welded ends with use of two heat power sources; performing heating due to friction of ends at their mutual relative motion and axial compression. Additional heat source provides additional heating of one or both ends. After achieving welding temperature, blanks are upset due to their mutual approaching and then movable blank is stopped and both blanks are welded. Then gradual cooling of welded joint is realized due to controlling power of additional heating. Unit for monitoring and controlling technological parameters of apparatus according to invention is electrically connected with mechanism for compression of blanks, with mechanism for creating angular oscillations and with unit for additional heating of blanks. Use of additional heating allows significantly lower power of drive unit, oscillation frequency of movable blank and occurring inertial load.
EFFECT: possibility for welding blanks of large mass and area of welded surfaces, high quality of welding.
