FIELD: rocketry, in particular, means of separation of rocket stages.

SUBSTANCE: the powder charge is ignited by the impact primer for separation of the projectile sustainer stage from the zero-stage engine, the charge is pricked by means of the firing spring after the engine has completed its operation. The firing spring is cocked at the instant of engine starting and fixed in the compressed position relative to the impact primer up to completion of the engine operation.

EFFECT: reduced projectile mass and simplified assembly of the device due to location of the impact primer and powder charge in a separate body, enhanced reliability of separation of stages, reduced overall dimensions and mass of the device, enhanced safety at assembly of the projectile.
