FIELD: the invention refers to underwater acoustics and may be used at development of sonar measuring systems with increased accuracy and a range of action designed for working in reservoirs of the type of a shallow sea with large dispersion distortions of an acoustic signal.
SUBSTANCE: according to the mode on a controlling object a periodic impulse acoustic signal is generated and emitted. The emission of the acoustic signal is synchronized with the beginning of accounting of time in a receiving point on a controlled object. On the controlled object the acoustic signal is received with two receivers spaced at a distance smaller then the length of the wave of the emitted signal. The receivers are placed directly on the bottom. In quality of one of the receivers they use a vector receiver of oscillating speed, and in quality of the second receiver a undirected receiver of sound pressure is used. The distance to the object is defined according to the parameters with taking into consideration the preliminary measured density and sound speed in the bottom layer of water, and also density and speed of longitudinal waves in the ground.
EFFECT: decreases errors in measuring.
