SUBSTANCE: invention relates to N-methyl-N-acetyl-ortho-ethoxyaniline possessing anti-detonation properties and to using N-acetyl-ortho-ethoxyaniline, N-methyl-N-acetyl-ortho-ethoxyaniline, N-methyl-ortho-ethoxyaniline, N,N-dimethyl-ortho-ethoxyaniline or their mixture with or without of oxygenates as components for addition agents used for enhancing stability of hydrocarbon fuels against detonation, and for preparing the high-octane fuel composition. Also, invention relates to high-octane fuel compositions containing above indicated compounds.
