FIELD: procedures for automatic contact-free thickness control of metallic foil and polymeric film materials in process of hot or cold rolling in rolling mills or recoiling of polymers, papers and other materials.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes ultrasound oscillation irradiator; connected in series receiver of ultrasound oscillations, amplifier, first selector (first inlet), first peak value detector, emitter follower, threshold circuit; driving pulse generator whose outlet is connected with inlet of ultrasound oscillation irradiator and with second of first selector; reference voltage source whose outlet is connected with second inlet of registering device. Apparatus includes in addition second peak detector, second selector, function matching unit and adder while inlet of second peak detector is connected with outlet of first selector and outlet of second peak detector is connected with first inlet of function matching unit; inlet of second selector is connected with outlet of generator and its outlet is connected with second inlet of function matching unit; first inlet of adder is connected with outlet of threshold circuit, second inlet of adder is connected with outlet of function matching unit and inlet of adder is connected with first inlet of registering device.
EFFECT: enlarged range and improved accuracy of measurements.
