METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROL OF LIQUID MEDIUM LEVEL WITH ANNUNCIATION OF AVAILABILITY OF ACOUSTIC CONTACT BETWEEN TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER OF ULTRASONIC VIBRATIONS AND SURFACES OF CONTAINER WALLS Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC G01F23/296

Abstract RU 2378624 C2

FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to method of control of level and availability of liquid in technological containers and pipelines of various manufactures and may be used in metallurgy industry, chemical industry, oil processing industry, water conditioning and other branches of industry. Method of control of liquid medium level consists in the following: first transmitter and first receiver are arranged at diametrically opposite walls of container, first dilatational ultrasonic wave in first transmitter is excited from time to time and is put into container wall at an angle of 90° to its surface, first dilatational ultrasonic wave is received by first receiver. Second receiver of ultrasonic waves is located additionally on common wave guide with first transmitter at distance not more than two diametres between centers of their piezoelectric converters, second receiver receives first reflected dilatational ultrasonic wave obtained from first dilatational ultrasonic wave as a result of reflection from boundary line - wave guide of first transmitter / contact layer. In a similar manner second transmitter is additionally located on common wave guide with first receiver. First receiver receives second dilatational reflected ultrasonic wave obtained as a result of reflection of second dilatational ultrasonic wave from boundary line - wave guide of first transmitter / contact layer, thickness and material of transmitters wave guides is chosen in such a way that second reflected dilatational ultrasonic wave comes to input of first receiver when first dilatational ultrasonic wave comes to its input, first and second dilatational ultrasonic waves are combined and amplified, amplitude is determined, detection is performed, periodic sequence of pulses, standardised as per time and amplitude, is formed, summing up is performed in second logical summator "OR" and if at least one pulse sequence is available at summator output, they are integrated and annunciation signal of acoustic contact fault by first transmitter or first receiver is formed. Presented device implements the method.

EFFECT: improvement of reliability of ultrasonic control of level upon change of acoustic resistance of contact layer between ultrasonic transmitter and receiver of ultrasonic vibrations and surface of container walls.
