FIELD: complex quality control of mixed-oxide fuel rods.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method for complex quality control of MOX fuel rod includes combination of at least two of following steps: measuring plutonium content in mentioned fuel rod pellets; checking for nonstandard pellets in mentioned rod; checking for internal structure and components in mentioned rod; measuring geometric characteristics of mentioned rod; measuring radioactive contaminants along mentioned rod surface and checking rod identifying data for compliance with plutonium enrichment. In the process fuel rod is moved along axis at the same time executing at least two steps along axially displaced fuel rod using radiometry, and/or radiography, and/or electrooptic identification for mentioned check.

EFFECT: minimized requirement for check-to-check buffer stores, reduced quality control region and capital outlays for mixed-oxide fuel production, reduced danger of personnel exposure to radioactive rays.
