FIELD: transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to self-propelled vehicles, wheel-and-track tractors and carriers. Proposed method is implemented by turning of steerable wheels of front and rear axles with simultaneous changing of track speeds. Difference in speeds of faster-moving and slower-moving tracks depends on position of control common for wheels and tracks. Current values of movement of steering gear elements are recorded in matching device. Said matching device, with due account of speed of movement of vehicle center of masses, forms control action onto unit which controls stepless steering mechanism. Said control unit provides values of speeds of faster-moving and slower moving tracks required for coincidence of centers of turning of wheel and track drives.
EFFECT: improved steerability of wheel-and-track vehicle and accuracy of cornering.
