FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: hand-held tool has spade blade or fork blade with foot rest, cylindrical shank having lower part curved so as to provide the possibility of foot resting upon its curved part. Foot rests provided on blade are bent upward. Shank made from wood is curved at right angle and fixed in shank holder which is rigidly connected to spade blade or fork blade. Spade blade is made from carbonaceous steel.

EFFECT: reduced weight of tool, simplified construction, increased resistance of shank curved part to acting side loadings, and wider range of tool application.
