FIELD: nuclear engineering; nuclear power plants and spent nuclear fuel reconditioning plants.
SUBSTANCE: proposed spent nuclear fuel store has water pool incorporating bays with slotted beam ceilings, boxes holding spent nuclear fuel and disposed on the latter, as well as lifting-and-conveying facility. Pool bays are provided with additional beam ceilings and crosspiece secured on lifting-and-conveying facility crane. Box and counterpoise are secured on opposite ends of crosspiece for controlled displacement on the latter. Store space enables storage of 1032 boxes holding spent nuclear fuel apart from 35040 (about 3%) those specified by design which provides for operation of four PBMK-1000 power units for 11 months.
EFFECT: enlarged space for holding spent nuclear fuel.
