FIELD: computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device for connecting peripheral units to computer has components installed within computer casing slot in the form of adapter-container accommodating USB connector receptacle part. L-shaped flexible locking metal strip is mounted on one of container ends and T-shaped flexible locking strip, on its other end. Casing slot is provided with controlled electromagnet; locking metal strip is capable of setting in locking position with electromagnet tuned on. One of two additional springs disposed in slot is mounted for pushing container out of slot when electromagnet is tuned off. Second spring is installed to provide for limited longitudinal movement of container with electromagnet turned on.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of mechanism preventing spontaneous fall-out of plug and inadmissible response of user during data transfer through connector; enhanced compatibility of receptacle and plug used at present.
