FIELD: process for preparing of fresh bulb onion for storage to be further used in space feeding.
SUBSTANCE: method involves providing sequential extraction of Mortierella polycephala micromycet biomass using non-polar extractant in super-critical state, water, alkali, water, acid, water, alkali, and water; joining first extract with solid residue for producing of biomass preparation; sterilizing distilled water, gauze wads and smoking paper; preparing 70%-ethyl alcohol solution and 0.005%-suspension of biomass preparation based on sterilized distilled water; inspecting bulb onion; wiping each bulb onion with sterilized gauze wad moistened in ethyl alcohol solution; removing non-tightly adhering covering scale; holding in biomass preparation suspension during 5 min; cutting-off neck; cleaning stem; washing in position wherein neck is directed downward using ethyl alcohol solution; drying at temperature of 35±5 C until residual moisture content of upper scale is 18-20%; wiping each bulb with sterilized gauze wad moistened in ethyl alcohol solution; exposing each opposite side of bulb to ultraviolet radiation during 30 min at radiation intensity of 1.5-2.5 W/m3; packaging each bulb under aseptic conditions in smoking paper and placing in single layers within sterile polymeric trays. Method allows bulb onion storage time to be increased up to 45 days to be used in space feeding.
EFFECT: prolonged bulb onion storage time.
