FIELD: process for preparing of fresh bulb onion for storage to be further used in space feeding.
SUBSTANCE: method involves sequential extracting of Mortierella beljacovae micromycet biomass using non-polar extractant in super-critical state, water, alkaline, water, acid, water alkaline, and water; joining first extract with solid residue for producing of biomass preparation; sterilizing distilled water, gauze wads and smoking paper; preparing 70%-ethyl alcohol solution and 0.005%-biomass preparation suspension based on sterilized distilled water; inspecting bulb onion; wiping each bulb with sterilized gauze wad moistened in ethyl alcohol solution; removing non-tightly adhering covering scale; holding in suspension of biomass during 5 min; cutting-off neck and cleaning stem; washing in position wherein neck is oriented downward with ethyl alcohol solution; drying at temperature of 35±5°C until residual moisture content of upper scales is 18-20%; wiping each bulb with sterilized gauze wad moistened in ethyl alcohol solution; exposing each opposite side of bulb to ultraviolet radiation during 30 min at radiation intensity of 1.5-2.5 W/m3; packaging each bulb under aseptic conditions in smoking paper and placing in single layers in sterile polymeric trays. Method allows bulb onion storage time to be increased to 45 days and said bulb onion to be used in space feeding.
EFFECT: prolonged storage time of fresh bulb onion.
