FIELD: process for preparing of fresh bulb onion for further usage in space feeding.

SUBSTANCE: method involves wiping preliminarily inspected bulb onion at predetermined wiping mode parameters with ethyl alcohol solution; removing non-tightly adhering covering scale; holding in suspension of preparation produced from Mortierella elongata micromycet biomass using predetermined process; cutting-off neck and cleaning stem; washing with ethyl alcohol solution; drying; exposing to ultraviolet radiation; packaging each bulb in smoking paper and placing in polymeric trays. Method allows bulb onion to be transported to space object and stored there during 45 days to be used in space feeding.

EFFECT: prolonged time for storage of fresh bulb onion.
