FIELD: rolled tube production, namely piercing ingots and billets of titanium base alloys, possibly manufacture of conversion tubes of large and mean diameters of ingots titanium base alloy in tube rolling plants including skew rolling mills, namely in tube rolling aggregates with pilger mills.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of heating drilled ingots in muffles in three-zone heating furnaces till yielding temperature; piercing ingots or billets to sleeves on mandrel in skew rolling mill with revolution number of working rolls 30 -35 rev/min; piercing ingots and billets in skew rolling mill with different revolution number of working rolls; from time moment of ingot or billet biting between rolls till time moment of complete placing of alloy onto mandrel, performing piercing at revolution number of working rolls 20 - 25 rev/min; realizing stabilized piercing process at revolution number of rolls 35 - 40 rev/min; at outlet of mandrel from sleeve decreasing revolution number of working rolls till 25 -30 rev/min; piercing sleeves at elongation degree 1.7 - 1.9; after output of sleeve from rolls of piercing mill, lowering water feed onto rolls of piercing mill by 2 - 3 times and arresting water feed onto rod of mandrel. Invention provides lowered by 25-30% factor of titanium base alloy consumption for conversion "ingot-conversion tube- blank".
EFFECT: lowered labor consumption of conversion process "ingot-billet of titanium base alloy -conversion tube-bottle blank", improved efficiency of piercing mill, reduced cost of conversion tubes and commercial bottle blanks.
