FIELD: keyboard unit for use together with terminal which contains illuminating elements.
SUBSTANCE: keyboard unit contains a keyboard which has at least one elastic layer and at least one button on elastic layer, wave conductor for transmitting and redirecting light through it, where wave conductor is positioned under elastic layer and has at least one reflective element for reflecting light towards appropriate button, and switching substrate under the wave conductor, which substrate has at least one switch formed on its upper surface, and on button press, a part of wave conductor is deformed towards the switching substrate, activating the switch.
EFFECT: reduced number of light diodes, used for building a keyboard, reduced losses of light, transferred to each button.
