SUBSTANCE: method involves growing plants; measuring thickness of their seed lobes and detecting wax-like cuticle thereon; considering plants having seed lobe leaves 1 mm thick and coated with wax-like cuticle as plants more resistant to Chaetocnema and weevils.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and precision in selecting of chewing insect resistant plants.
