FIELD: magnetomechanical grinding of materials using ferromagnetic milling bodies, utilized in processes for preparing of raw materials to concentration procedures, as well as in construction, chemical and other branches of industry.

SUBSTANCE: method involves rotating mill drum at n=20/√D, where n is number of revolutions per min; D is diameter of drum, m; using two electromagnets fixed in diametrically opposite relation on mill drum (through 180 deg), with poles of electromagnets being directed into cavity of mill drum; generating magnetic field of each electromagnet in the form of individual pulses, with number of pulses making at least two; providing duration of first pulse equal to time during which electromagnet with mill drum moves from left-hand end of horizontal (beginning of angular coordinates=0 deg) downward to point with coordinate of from 30 to 50 deg; generating second pulse having duration equal to time of movement of electromagnet upward from point with coordinate lying within the range of 100-140 deg to right-hand end of horizontal (coordinate 180 deg); dividing each of magnetic pulses into number of shorter pulses having duration equal to, for example, time interval between end and excitation of short-term pulse.

EFFECT: reduced consumption of power and increased efficiency of mill.
