FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method for crushing of materials in mill rotary drum by soft magnetic bodies, for instance balls, includes their seizure and lifting at optimal height by magnetic attractive force of electromagnets fixed on drum and balls dropping into drum cavity, whenever electromagnets are de-energised. Electromagnets are installed on drum along helical line with shift by angle α, moreover, those electromagnets that are lowered down in the mill are connected to source of current in the range of central angle β=10÷40° measured from vertical beam with top that coincides with drum rotary axis opposite to drum traveling direction, and those electromagnets that are lifted upwards are disconnected from source of current in the range of central angle γ=90÷135° measured from vertical beam along with direction of drum traveling, at that angle α is determined according to the following expression: α=k(0.95÷1.05)π/n-1, where k is integer odd number; n is number of electromagnets.
EFFECT: lower value of periodic loads on drum and mill supports.
