FIELD: military materials; booster jet engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention is used in close range recoilless guns in which chemical energy of powder charge is converted into thermal energy of powder gases and then into kinetic energy of outgoing gas jet. Proposed boost jet engine with radial-swirl dispersion of reaction inertia mass consists of adapter bottom, body, nozzle assembly, boost unit with central threaded hole for fastening powder charge, and nozzle assembly is connected with body by thread. Body has narrowing part made in form of swirler being two-chamber tangentially slotted cup with central hole. Nozzle assembly has elongated cylindrical part accommodating reaction inertia mass being essentially finely divided iron powder.
EFFECT: increased total impulse of thrust, reduced impulse gauge pressure at functioning of boost jet engine at multisided screening of firing position and at firing from confined spaces.
