FIELD: method for recognizing manipulations in a device consisting of impulse sensor and a recording device, in particular, for tachograph units it is of importance to prevent any possible manipulations.

SUBSTANCE: in accordance to the method, sensor (S) transmits impulses (RTS), measured in real time, to recording device (RM), and cyclically, in response to first query command signal, transmits data signal (DS), and in response to second query command, shifted in time relatively to first query command, receives number of real time impulses (RTSN). Module for estimating data signals (DSE) compares number of real time impulses (RTSN) and number of data signal impulses (DSN).

EFFECT: increased reliability of protection from manipulation.
