FIELD: hydraulic and reclamation construction, particularly to reinforce dam slopes, to protect river and canal beds against erosion.
SUBSTANCE: protective covering comprises waste car or tractor tires provided with star-like cuts formed in connection areas thereof. Eyelet rings are pressed in the cuts. Te eyelets are retained by bendable cut leaves to create solid hinged connection. Each eyelet is made of concrete reinforced with metal rod and has conical head, cylindrical rod and conical-and-cylindrical stem. Head and stem diameters exceeds rod diameter. Difference between said diameters is equal to 4-5 thicknesses of tires to be connected. Rod length is 1.0-1.5 rod diameters. Method for protective covering assemblage involves using movable hydraulic press clip provided with holder for eyelet connection and tire cutting head. The tire cutting head is installed on eyelet head during star-like cut creation in tires to be connected with each other simultaneously with eyelet ring embedding in the tires. Tire interiors and space between the tires are filled with gravel ballast. Some tires are filled with reinforced concrete.
EFFECT: increased strength and service life, simplified structure and assemblage.
