FIELD: mechanical engineering; heat exchanger.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in cooling and heating systems. Proposed plate heat exchanger contains great number of plates, inlet and outlet holes for each fluid medium communicating with each passage for fluid medium, insert arranged for communicating through fluid medium with passage section for one fluid medium and great number of surface microprojections communicating through fluid medium with fluid medium passage section. Great number of microprojections is provided with great number of holes or perforations. Each hole or perforation corresponds to contact unit between front surfaces of adjoining plates. Heat exchanger can be provided with brazed construction with arrangement of foil plate between adjoining plates, said foil plate melts and flows in between adjoining plates. Insert is provided with coating layer preventing flowing of molten foil plate into great number of microprojections. Method to form higher heat transfer surface for use with plate heat exchanger includes placing of insert communicating through fluid medium with section of one passage for fluid medium and forming of great number of surface microprojections on section of surface of one of plates by deposition. Method to form higher heat transfer surface can include step at which great number of surface microprojections are formed as cavities by means of forming device which is placed in contact with section of surface of one of plates before assembling of plate heat exchanger of step at which one foil plate is placed between adjoining plates of plate set which melts and flows in between adjoining plates of plate set, and layer of coating is applied to section of one insert to preclude flowing in of molten foil metal into great number of microprojections.

EFFECT: increased heat transfer coefficient.
