FIELD: electric engineering, namely, designs of electric motors with high length to diameter ratio, possible use for constructing electric motors meant for operation in submerged state and used as drives in submersible pump machines for extracting formation fluid from oil wells.
SUBSTANCE: claimed submersible synchronous electric motor contains stator, in the body of which a laminated magnetic conductor is installed with teeth on internal surface and a rotor installed in the stator, on external surface of which teeth are also present, and between rotor and stator a guaranteed gap is present. In accordance to the invention, working surfaces of radial teeth of stator and rotor are displaced relatively to each other along the axis of electric motor in direction, which is opposite to direction of displacement of working surface of rotor teeth under effect of torque.
EFFECT: increased torque and power of extended electric motor due to ensured synchronization of tooth zones of electric motor during "twisting" of rotor of synchronous electric motor under effects of torque which appears during transmission of forces from motor to submersible pump, under effect of nominal loads in the shaft of electric motor.
