SUBSTANCE: method involves calculating dose of nitrogen to be applied for producing of planned yield, with nitrogen content in soil plow layer and extent of carrying away of nitrogen by unit of product being taken into account; measuring from crop tillering phase to beginning of ear formation phase consumption of soil moisture with natural field moisture content and consumption of moisture under water charging irrigation conditions, with measured subsurface runoff and infiltration beyond root layer being taken into account; calculating crop nitrogen demand from formula D=N·L/Li, where D is crop nitrogen demand, kg/hectare; N is feeding dose calculated on the basis of soil nitrogen content and extent of carrying away of nitrogen by planned yield, kg/hectare; L are total losses of moisture by soil and plants during tillering - ear formation phases from 0-30 cm layer, mm; Li are losses of moisture under water charging irrigation conditions during tillering - ear formation phases from 0-30 cm layer, mm.

EFFECT: increased precision and operational flexibility, and simplified determining of nitrogen demand by plants.
