FIELD: preparing of fresh tomatoes for storage and further usage in space feeding.
SUBSTANCE: method involves sequentially extracting biomass of Mortierella globalpina micromycet using non-polar extractant in over-critical state, water, alkali, water, acid, water alkali, and water; joining first extract with solid residue for producing of biomass preparation; sterilizing distilled water, paper wads and smoking paper; preparing 0.02%-potassium permanganese solution, 0.5%-citric acid solution, and 0.01%-suspension of biomass preparation, said solutions and suspension being prepared using sterilized distilled water as base; inspecting ripening milky stage tomatoes; soaking in sweet water at temperature of 20-30 C during 10-20 min; washing in sweet running water at temperature of 20-30 C; separating stems; sequentially holding at room temperature in solutions of potassium permanganate and citric acid, and suspension of biomass preparation, during 5 min in each solution and suspension; removing, after each holding process, residual solution and suspension from fruit surfaces using sterilized paper wads; applying continuous layer of medicinal glue of MK-6 or BF-6 grade to stem place and adjoining surface of 16-25 mm2 area; exposing opposite sides of tomatoes to ultraviolet radiation during 30 min at radiation intensity of 2 W/m3; packaging each tomato under aseptic conditions in smoking paper and placing in single layer within polymer trays. Method allows shelf life of tomatoes to reach 45 days at storage temperature of 25±2 C.
EFFECT: prolonged shelf life of fresh tomatoes.
