FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, machines and mechanisms used for harvesting of potato from home grounds.
SUBSTANCE: potato digger has rotor consisting of rod combs, screen adapted for restricting spreading of tubers, and supporting wheel. Potato digger is provided with additional wheel, supports positioned opposite each wheel, blade, control handles, and leverage system. One of levers and yoke are used for lifting of blade and rotation of rotor. Other levers formed as rod comb remove tubers from blade and throw tubers into rotor equipped with tuber charging and discharge window. Movable tuber stirring grid and helm catchers are disposed within rotor. Rod screen is mounted within rotor for rotation through predetermined angle in order to charge tubers. Yoke has retainer controlled by means of lever and rope.
EFFECT: simplified construction, improved operating characteristics, simplified potato digging process and reduced potato losses.
