FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: bearing of heavy-loaded friction unit has internal and external rings; cylindrical rollers are disposed between those rings. Heat-removing member is mounted onto external surface of external ring; cooling surface is withdrawn out of case of axle box. Part of cooling surface Θ* of heat-removing member belongs to interval of [1/6, 1/3]. Break of axes of wheel pairs can be avoided due to exclusion of fails in operation of bearings.
EFFECT: improved safety of train traffic.
