FIELD: aeronautical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: straight or swept wing of subsonic aircraft consists of center-wing section, outer wing panels, leading-edge slats, trailing-edge flaps and flight control members. Mounted on wing sheath is spring-loaded door freely orienting in flow; this door closes profiled air passages of flaps. When flaps are extended, position of door is determined by outlet section of air flow from lower surface to upper surface of wing. When flaps are retracted, their elements are pressed against each other by flap mechanism. Door lies on upper surface of flap; sealing gasket is laid between flap and wing sheath.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency at large angles of attack.
