FIELD: PERFORMING OPERATIONS.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises the following two successive steps, performed in a hostile atmosphere in automatic mode with remote control: mating two metal components (a body and a lid), so that the edges of their opposite walls are kept in mutual contact, and forming a continuous penetrative weld all around the two metal components at their wall edges being kept in mutual contact. The first mating step includes a guided approach of the body and the lid with the aid of a mating guide arranged on the inner side of one of them. The weld seam is formed without using spot welding, whereby the edges of the body and the lid walls to be fastened are kept in contact while pressure is applied to one of them. The weld seam is formed with no filler metal. A container made using the decribed method is also proposed including its lid and body, and a metal component of the container meant for fastening by welding to the inner surface of the body or the lid.
EFFECT: allows providing a tight and mechanically strong package for hazardous wastes and ensuring the performance of all necessary operations in automatic mode with remote control.
