FIELD: transportation of radioactive materials.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to containers for storage and transportation of radioactive materials. Container for nuclear material comprises housing made from metal, and cover made from same metal. Cover and housing are made with possibility of their welding to each other. Cover comprises multiple scanned elements. Scanned elements are configured to be scanned with an ultrasonic scanner. One or more scanned elements are inclined surface elements. Each inclined surface element is inclined relative to cover axis. During scanning, a first scanning signal is generated. First scanning signal depends on which of the said scanned elements are inclined elements. Weld zone is suitable for its scanning with the help of the second ultrasonic scanner. When scanning the weld zone, during use of the container, a second scanning signal is generated. There is also a method of identifying and authenticating a container for nuclear and/or hazardous material, a recordable, rewritable or recorded data medium and a service computer.
EFFECT: group of inventions enables to obtain a container with improved identification and authentication features.
