FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: openable film-based radiation reflector contains the following kinematically connected components: a flexible reflective surface, surface forming means designed as pneumatic systems including concentric pneumatic chambers connected with one another with radial pneumatic stands, and flexible reflective surface orientation control means on gimbal suspensions. The gimbal suspensions are designed as the first and second pneumatic chambers interacting with each other and kinematically connected, through shafts and axles, with the corresponding first and second orientation motors designed so that they may be installed rigidly on the spacecraft hull. The pneumatic chambers and the pneumatic system of the surface forming means are pneumatically connected to the filler (e.g. gas) source, and the second pneumatic chamber is connected to the third (external) pneumatic chamber with radial pneumatic stands. Additionally, device versions are proposed.
EFFECT: decrease in weight and dimensions of film-based radiation reflector packing and opening mechanisms.
