FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: travelling crane incorporates a span beam supported by crane jibs arranged on the rail tracks. The span beam incorporates a lifting mechanism with a drive to move the later on along the beam. The crane is also provided with an additional drive to lift and move the loads. The traveling crane has also an additional span beam located in parallel to the main span beam. Here, the vertical plane of symmetry of the main span beam coincides with the vertical plane of symmetry of travelling crane and the line connecting the centers of crane jibs. The area of cross-section section of an additional span beam makes no more than 0.5 of the section of the main span beam. The additional drive of lifting and moving the loads is arranged on an additional span beam.
EFFECT: decrease in specific metal content and weight of the crane.
