FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to the method of obtaining 2-chloro-1,1,1,2,3,3,3-hepta-fluoro-propane, which consists of (a) contacting mixture, containing hydrogen fluoride, chlorine and at least, one initial product, chosen from a group, consisting of halogen propenes with formula CX3CCl=CX2 and halogen propanes with formula CX3CClYCX3, where each X independently represents F or Cl, and Y represents H, Cl and F (under the condition that, the number of X and Y, which are F, is not more than six) with a chlorofluorination catalyst in the reaction zone with obtaining of a product in the form of a mixture, containing CF3CClFCF3, HCl, HF and an uncompletely fluorinated halogenated hydrocarbon intermediate compounds and (b) separation of the obtained product with release of CF3CClFCF3. The stated chlorofluorination catalyst, containing at least, one chrome containing component, is chosen from (i) crystal alpha-chrome oxide, where at least, 0.05 atom % of the chromium atoms in the crystal lattice of the alpha-chrome oxide are substituted with nickel, trivalent cobalt or with nickel, or with trivalent cobalt under the condition that, not more than 2 atom % of chromium atoms in the crystal lattice of the alpha-chrome oxide are substituted with nickel, and that the overall number of chromium atoms in the crystal lattice of the alpha-chrome, which are substituted with nickel and trivalent cobalt, is not more than 6 atom %, and (ii) fluorinated crystal oxide (i). The invention also pertains to the method of obtaining a mixture of hexa-fluoro-propene and 1,1,1,2,3,3,3-hepta-fluoro-propane through interaction of the initial mixture, consisting of CF3CClFCF3, which is obtained using the method given above, and hydrogen, in vapour phase at high temperature, possibly, in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst.
