FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: stepwise apertures are made in the upper portion of the press chamber at a 1/3 to 2/3 of its total length from the end from the side of a molding window. Vented plugs are installed into apertures to create a labyrinth letting out air and detaining liquid metal. The vented plugs are made with grooves, two through holes connected with an axial aperture. Four counter bores are performed on the lower end of a vented plug middle portion. The labyrinth is created with a gap between the lower portion of the vented plug and lower part of the stepwise aperture, with a gap between a bearing surface of the stepwise aperture and four counter bores, with a gap between the middle portion of the plug and the middle portion of the aperture, with two through holes and an aperture connecting through holes with environment. The apertures in the press chamber allow connection to vacuumising system.
EFFECT: elimination of faint casting defects and upgrading of cast quality.
