FIELD: medicine; stomatology.
SUBSTANCE: mouth fluid is exposed to luminol-dependent chemiluminescence with luminescence intensity (LI). After tooth brushing with toothpaste chemiluminescence rate is redetected. If luminescence intensity (LI) is reduced by more than 20% of initial value, toothpaste is considered to be free-radical oxidation (FRO) suppressor and antioxidant. LI increasing by more than 20% indicates that toothpaste stimulates free-radical oxidation (FRO) and mouth fluid microbicidity.
EFFECT: invention enables to evaluate toothpaste effect on free-radical oxidation processes within mouth fluid.
