FIELD: sports.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sports and games surfaces, in particular, to a skating surface ensuring gliding at ambient temperatures above and below the freezing point and designed for arranging sports grounds without using freezing equipment. A surface comprises a block of monolithic plates made of super-high-molecular-polyethylene and a rigid foundation. The monolithic plates are made of a polyethylene having a molecular weight from 1.5 to 3.3 x 106 and are rigidly connected to each other. Furthermore, the surface is provided with at least one antifriction layer lying freely between the foundation and the block, said layer having a minimal coefficient of friction against the plate material and serving to make displacement of the blocks easier upon thermal expansion and to relax them upon freezing. The block is capable of displacement in a horizontal plane located within a mounting frame, which limits the block and along the perimeter of which thermal compensation springs are mounted used for returning the block in its balance position.

EFFECT: invention ensures improving the quality and service life of the surface together with making its fabrication, installation and maintenance easier.
