FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: combined-cycle piston engine incorporates a power source, a ram, a piston with a rod fitted in the cylinder to form a rod and a piston space, a high-pressure receiver, a control device made up of a two-position differential slide valve, a low-pressure receiver and an extra differential cylinder. The said high-pressure receiver communicates with the rod end space via the power cylinder orifice stopped by the piston end face with the latter in its initial position. The slide valve control chamber communicates, via a starting valve and an adjusting throttle, with the power cylinder rod end space. The extra cylinder piston space is kept continuously communicating with the low-pressure receiver. The said two-position four-way slide valve inlet gets connected to the power source, its first outlet communicating with the power cylinder head end, and the second outlet communicating with the low-pressure receiver. The blowdown channel communicates with the extra cylinder rod end.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
