FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to variable-capacity fans and can be used in gas transport units and power plants requiring a cooling of heat exchangers by air to keep up a required temperature of medium being cooled. The invention allows notable electric power savings in cooling, increasing the equipment life and reliability of control system. The said system incorporates a controller and a pickup of temperature of the medium being cooled, fans with drives, a set of heat exchangers, lines feeding cooling medium to the said heat exchangers and removing it into the manifold where from the cooled medium comes into the tailrace. The drives incorporate the rpm adjustment devices with the inputs receiving the signal from the temperature controller output. The controller first input receives the signal from the temperature pickup, its second inputs receives the signal on the required cooling medium temperature. Here, the fans are driven be asynchronous electric motors with the speed varied by the power supply frequency converter.

EFFECT: longer life; power savings; higher reliability of the control system.
