FIELD: physics; measurement.

SUBSTANCE: detector of a device for taking deposits for an automated teller machine or some other system is proposed. The technical outcome is the increased areas where the device can be used. The detector consists of an ultrasound transmitting device, excited by an excitation signal, providing for transmission by the ultrasound transmitting device of an ultrasound signal through the motion path of sheets in the detector. The detector also consists of an ultrasound receiving device, generating the signal of the receiving device in response to the ultrasound signal. The detector also contains first and second correlation filters. The first and second correlation filters generate the first and second output signals in response to the signal of the receiving device. At least one processor, in accordance with the first and second output signals of the correlation filters determine the information, linked to phase change of the ultrasound signal, and provides for differentiating single and multiple sheets on the motion path in accordance with information, linked to the phase changes.

EFFECT: making a device for efficient recognition of multiple sheets in an automated teller machine.
