FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns ferric metallurgy, particularly steel compositions used to manufacture driving and driven cog-wheels in double gear. Driving wheel is made of steel containing the following elements, in mass %: carbon 0.26 - 0.30, silicon 0.17 - 0.37, manganese 2.3 - 2.7, boron 0.010 - 0.018, vanadium 0.35 - 0.46, copper 0.6 - 0.8, cobalt 0.05 - 0.15, molybdenum 0.6 - 0.8, chrome not over 0.030, nickel not over 0.030, sulfur not over 0.035, phosphor not over 0.035, the rest being iron. Driven wheel is made of steel containing the following elements, in mass %: carbon 0.18 - 0.23, silicon 0.17 - 0.37, manganese 2.3 - 2.7, boron 0.010 - 0.018, vanadium 0.35 - 0.46, copper 0.6 - 0.8, cobalt 0.05 - 0.15, chrome not over 0.030, nickel not over 0.030, sulfur not over 0.035, phosphor not over 0.035, the rest being iron. Contact fatigue strength and, consequently, durability of double gear, is increased.
EFFECT: increased durability of cog-wheels.
