FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the area of metallurgy, namely to production of case-harden heat-resistant steel with improved technological properties for manufacture of heavily loaded rotor support bearings of a high-thrust gas turbine engine. The steel contains, % wt.: carbon 0.15 to 0.20, silicon 0.3 to 0.5, manganese 0.1 to 0.3, chromium 4.5 to 5.2, nickel 3.8 to 4, 3, molybdenum 3.2 to 3.8, vanadium 0.8 to 1.2, cobalt 0.5 to 1.0, tungsten 1.0 to 1.4, niobium 0.1 to 0.3, iron and impurities the rest.
EFFECT: after the final thermal and chemicothermal treatment the steel has a combination of high surface hardness and a viscous core.
