FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to nondestructive methods of dielectric strength control. Acoustical-electrical transducer is attached to core ends, core with isolation being partially placed under water sheet. Core voltage is gradually increased to value whereat previous continuous time-damped acoustic emission is replaced with discrete undamped one. Voltage value obtained indicates maximum intensity not reducing in time electric durability of isolation, in particular its threshold value.
EFFECT: chances to evaluate, by nondestructive methods for specific isolation, the minimum (threshold) intensity not reducing in time electric durability of isolation, and detect, by acoustic location, weak link position.
