METHOD OF CULTIVATION OF ANTLER FLY LARVAE AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLENETATION Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A01K67/00

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary parasitology and can be used in antler reindeer breeding. The method provides gathering of larvae, their cultivation in a nutrient medium at temperature of 35°C, hashing and using a hygienic sponge. As a nutrient medium the whole blood of marals is used, stabilised with versene and additive of Rivicyclinum - 150. The device for cultivation of antler fly larvae has a container with a lattice and the drain crane, a vessel with a nutritious fluid, the hygienic sponge used as a natural place of dwelling of larvae and system of feeding and hashing of a nutrient medium. The system of feeding and nutrient medium hashing is executed in the form of cylinder horizontally located on a lattice. One end of the cylinder is communicated with a vessel with a nutrient medium by means of a hose with the crane, and another - by means of a hose with the crane is communicated with the pump interconnected with a vessel with a nutrient medium. The cylinder in the upper part has a recess and figurate bars with a bed for larvae open-ended fixed along the both sides of the recess. The sponge is fixed in slots between bars and walls of the cylinder with recess overlapping on all length. The sponge has width not more than 12 mm and its upper part are enclosed by a demountable cover with a side clearance between the sponge and the upper parts of bars for an easy approach of larvae at their introduction.

EFFECT: obtaining high percent of the pupated larvae and breeding of antler fly imago.
